Plan for first shoot

I have decided that I would like my images to be inspired by front covers of vogue from the various decades. As this will give me a guideline and inspiration, also because Vogue is the most famous and popular fashion magazine for women, that was firstly published in 1892. There has been vogue magazines throughout each decade that I am focusing on.

Due to wanting to create a image for each decade, in order to manage my time efficiently, I will be styling more than one decade in each shoot. For example, in my first photoshoot I would like to focus on the earlier decades, the 20s and 30s.

During the 20s and 30s the covers of vogue were mainly illustration, rather than photographs. Therefor, I will be taking images inspired by these drawings, rather than recreating them.

I have found a range of front covers of Vogue from both of these decades that I could take inspiration from.

1920’s

Vogue – December 1923

This is the cover that I have decided to take inspiration from for my first shoot.

1930’s

Vogue – June 1932

This is the cover that I have chosen to use as inspiration for the second image in my first shoot.

I am wanting to take these images in the lighting studio, I have already arranged a model, I now just need to arrange when she is free with when the lighting studio is available.
