Today we were given a talk on a fashion and commercial photographer – Candice Farmer. Candice is an ex student at Plymouth college of Art, she is now well known for her leading underwater fashion and beauty photographs, shooting the likes of Keira Knightley, Lily Cole, Sir Nick Faldo, and others.
Candice has won an Oscar for “Best Commercial Advertising Photographer,” giving her a reputation amongst the elite.
Candice has her images exhibited worldwide and they have toured alongside those of Snowdon, Lichfield, McCartney and Fox Talbot in the Millennium International Worldwide Tour.
One of the reasons why her images are so unique and full of impact is her emphasis on “painting with light”, whether it be in the studio, on location or underwater. This is a critical factor in each and every photograph because it makes the difference between a good image and a stunning work of art.
Fresh2o
In 2004, Farmer founded the clean drinking water initiative Fresh2o, intended to raise awareness and funding for fresh water projects. As part of her campaign she has created a series of celebrity photographs to highlight the cause, including Keira Knightly, Kelly Brook, Sir Nick Faldo, Nicko McBrain, and Tamzin Outhwaite.
